Professional Photographer – Weddings, Portraits, Commercial & School Ball Photography

Jeremy Hill

To me, wedding photography, portraits, commercial and school ball events photography is not so much a job but a passion that I get to explore on a daily basis and I truly love it. I treasure the friendships that have evolved through working with my clients and othors associated with my business.

The thrill of creating images that my clients and I love is what pushes me to new levels of creativity – that, and my beautiful wife Trudi and our gorgeous boy Reuben and our baby girl, Madison.

I first became interested in photography when I started working in my parents photographic shop when I was 14. I loved tinkering with cameras, and selling them – and loved helping customers with their needs.

It wasn’t until 6th form, when I started a photography class, that I realized how much I loved the actual art and creation of photography. My dad must have been rapt that one of his children had a genuine interest in photography that he so much loved. So much so that he converted his much loved workshop into a darkroom for me to explore plus he loaned me my first SLR (Mamiya NC1000) with about 4 or 5 lenses.  I was so spoilt for choice.

For many years I continued selling cameras at a high level for various photographic retailers. There came a point where I knew I needed to make a change, I needed to challenge myself. The obvious choice to me was to go back to school and study photography and become a full time profesional photographer.

In 2003 I was accepted into the “Contemporary Diploma in Photography” at Unitec, thus starting my new career path. In 2005 I graduated and received my diploma in contemporary photography. During those 2 years I discovered my strengths were photographing people. I had an ability of making my subjects feel at ease in front of the camera and I simply loved working with people.
